by Auf Initiative der Europäischen Kommission soll im Juli 2022 von allen Mitgliedsstaaten der Euro-Zone eine motivgleiche 2-Euro-Gedenkmünze zum 35-jährigen Bestehen des Erasmus-Programmes herausgegeben werden. Die Bundesregierung hat vor diesem Hintergrund beschlossen, eine 2-Euro-Gedenkmünze „35 Jahre Erasmus-Programm” prägen zu lassen und im Juli 2022 auszugeben.. in juli 2022, ter ere van het 35-jarig bestaan van het Erasmus-programma. In de regel mag elk euroland per jaar slechts twee herdenkingsmunten van € 2 uitgeven. In uitzonderlijke gevallen mag een derde munt worden uitgegeven, maar alleen als alle eurolanden dit gezamenlijk doen om een gebeurtenis te herdenken die voor heel Europa van belang is.
